Introducing Caslon Rounded Ornamented at 12 line in collaboration with Commercial Type!

The most detailed fount we have ever manufactured, each letter requires mutliple tool changes before hand-finishing. At 12 line, the intricate patterns within each letter hold up beautifully pass after pass under the press. Sample prints made on a Farley No. 12 printing press.

Alphabet - 26 Characters (A-Z)

2A - 39 Characters (scheme detailed in product images)

Default type height is 23.32mm / 0.918” with a tolerance of 0.05mm along the end grain and relief depth of 2.5mm.

Materials

End grain beech hardwood finely sanded to type height. Each block is finished with shellac which forms a protective layer so the ink wipes off cleanly. Polished with fine steel wool to a glass-smooth print surface
