Product Description

Brand new, uninked letterpress wood type printing blocks CNC milled from end grain beech.

Typeface

Reimagined by Letraset as a reinterpretation of ‘Belwe-Antiqua’ by Georg Belwe for the Schelter & Giesecke foundry in 1907.

The type had Old Style qualities, short ascenders and descenders as well as calligraphic and Fraktur influences.

Available as both uppercase and lowercase.

Materials

End grain beech hardwood finely sanded to type height. Each block is finished with shellac and polished with fine steel wool for a smooth print surface.

Scheme details available in the product images. Photos show Belwe Bold milled to 10 line size.

Default type height is 23.32mm / 0.918” with a tolerance of 0.05mm along the end grain and relief depth of 2.5mm.

Production Time & Shipping

We welcome domestic and international orders. UK orders will be sent via Royal Mail’s Insured Special Delivery service. International orders will be sent with UPS or via the most relevant courier. Import duties, customs fees and local taxes are to be paid by the receiver.
